The Truth

I am a sinner. I do bad things.
  • Romans 3:10 - "None is righteous, no, not one."
  • Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Because I am a sinner, I fall short. I do not deserve to go to Heaven when I die. I deserve Hell. Nothing I do can get me to Heaven.
  • Romans 6:23a - "For the wages of sin is death"
  • Ephesians 2:8,9 - "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
God does not leave us hopeless. God loves us, and wants us to be in Heaven with Him when we die. He loves us so much that He gave the ultimate sacrifice: His Son. Jesus Christ, God's Son, died for us.
  • Romans 6:23b - "but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
  • John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
  • Romans 5:8 - "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus did not stay in the grave. He conquered death.
  • I Corinthians 15:4 - "that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures"
To get this free gift, all I have to do is ask.
  • Romans 10:9 - "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
  • Romans 10:13 - "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
God's gift can not be taken away.
  • John 10:28, 29 - (Jesus is speaking.) "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."
When we accept God's free gift, He promises to wash us with His blood and give us everlasting life. With that gift comes God's love and peace, love and peace like no other.
  • Romans 8:38, 39 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
